hurrumph....

Well we're finally back online, after quite a few weeks. I still don't have any projects to post yet, but I wanted to drop a little note to say I'm still here. :) A few weeks ago my home was burglarized a few weeks ago and the culprits made off with my laptop and my Gypsy...I'm sure they didn't even know what it was. Needless to say I've been trying to get everything back on track and in order. Hopefully I can get some valentines up before the end of the week...

Super Sketchy Sunday Enrty

Good morning all!!! Hope you had a fantastic weekend! We got a few inches of snow here in the south, so that has been tons of fun!!! I spent the majority of yesterday designing for challenges that are coming up. First up... my FIRST scrap book layout ever!!!! I think I did alright....

I was inspired from the Super Sketchy Sunday sketch over at 365 Cards...click the link to see the design and all of the entries. I used the lightning cloud from the Indie Art cartridge and the umbrellas from Paisley, I welded in the letters using the Songbird cartridge. The words were cut using George. Paper is from Hobby Lobby and DCVW.
Hope your off to wonderful week...check back soon!

Gypsy $49.99!!!

Just a quick update to share something I forgot to post yesterday... When I was at Michael's getting the $9.99 Cricut cartridges I noticed ( to my dismay :( ) that Michael's has their Cricut Gypsy on clearance for $49.99!!!! WOW!!! I thought I was getting a good deal when I got mine on Black Friday for $99.99...apparently not!!! Anyway if you DO NOT own a Gypsy already RUN...DON'T WALK to your nearest Michael's and see if you can swipe one up for this insane price!!!! Good luck to you all! :)

$9.99 Cartridges at Michaels

Hey there!!! Just wanted to share a quick post about my exciting morning running around to the Michael's all around Memphis looking for these clearance cartridges....I'm so happy this is what I got:

YAY!!! I've been wanting some of the licensed carts for a while, and I'm super excited to get the Hello Kitty Greeting cart! I only had to go to 2 Michaels on opposite sides of the city to find anything other than the Paisley cart.
Well I'm off to see what exciting things I can come up with using my new carts. Hope you're all having a wonderful sunday...

KinderStampO January Tag Swap

Hi there!! Today I'm posting an entry for the January Tag Swap at KinderStampO.
The theme for the swap is "Have a peachy birthday." I unfortunately do not own any PK stamps :( This is what I came up with...

Tag cut from Sentimentals Cartridge at 4"
Tag inside layer cut from Sentimentals at 3.25" (I used my Gypsy to hide the contour of the tag hole for the layer)
Wish  cut from Gypsy Wanderings at .9"
Cake was made by using the one layer cake on Straight from the Nest cart copied twice each at a slightly smaller size and then welded together using the Gypsy.
I embellished using rhinestones and silver and blue Stickles.

I have another tag I'm submitting, but technical issues prevent me from posting it right now. I'll try to have it up later tonight or tomorrow.

Thanks so much for stopping by!!

Framed Scrapbook Art and MTTCC - Up in the Air Challenge

Hello Again!
I just finished my first attempt at framed scrapbook style art. I was inspired to make a sign for our booth at Handcrafted Creativity and this is what I came up with.

While roaming the blog world I coincidentally stumbled across the My Time To Craft Challenge blog, and my little work of art fit their challenge over there this week. So I'm linking this up with their site as well. Funny how things like that happen.

The frame is 11 x 14.5 " .I used Poteeka Souffle and Penny Lane paper stacks from the Paperstudio, DCWV Glitter stacks, Celebrate it ribbon (so cute, it says "Made with Love" on it), K& Co. rhinestones, and fiskars paper edge punches.
I used my Gypsy to make a cupcake borer with the cupcake from Gypsy Wanderings, I angled and welded the cupcakes and their shadows and welded the letters from the Gypsy font in the middle. I also used the Gypsy monogram font for the bottom letters.

I have to admit I really love this sign. Its very busy but still pretty I think. Tell me what you think!

Cricut Paisley Cart: Flower Power Cards

Woo! Two posts up in one day, I finally made it! Well I'm back to share some cards I made using the Cricut Paisley cartridge.

I cut these shoes at 2.5" using Paperstudio Peace Love Happiness paper stack and Brazzill card stock.
Flower Power cut out at 2" using Paperstudio pattern paper pack.
These are standard A2 size cards, and the shoes were actually one image and i just separated them into 2 cards.

Thanks for checking out my groovy cards, I'm hoping to get the new Cricut Groovy Times Cartridge for even more fantastic groovy projects. Have a great day!

MPS Design Team Challenge

Hi Friends!
Today I am going to share a project that is an entry for the My Pink Stamper DesignTeam Challenge. There are so many entries over there, I know Robin will have a hard time picking. Anyway, I made a gift box in green, pink, and brown using the cricut for this challenge to meet the requirements. Here's my "Star" themed gift box.

RECIPE:
Cricut Indie Art Cart - tape cut at 2.25" , guitar cut at 3.5"
Cricut Paisley Cart - sunglasses cut at 1.5"
Cricut Gypsy Wanderings - star cut at 1.7" , music notes cut at 2"

Paperstudio Safari Untamed paper stack
Paperstudio Peace, Love, Happiness paper stack
Paperstudio Pattern Paper stack
Paperstudio Textured Card stock
DCWV Glitter Stack
Celebrate It Ribbon
Fiskars Edge Punch -Apron Lace

I found the instructions for the gift box at Cricut Chick's Blog.
Start with a 12x12 piece of card stock and score 4" squares, you should end up with 9 4"x4" squares scored on your paper. Score the corner squares diagonally. Then the decorating is up to you. I cut smaller squares to layer on the 4x4 squares. (cut at 3.75" and3.5") I punched the edges of my 4 main square with an edge punch,  I then cut out images and word art to match my theme using my Cricut expression and Gypsy. I attached the images and word using dimensionals and my ATG.

I can't wait to fill this cute box with goodies and gift it away! Hope you enjoyed my quick little tutorial, see you next time!
